Our national governing body, USA Gymnastics, directs competitive gymnastics. USAG has three distinct programs: Developmental (Level 1-2), Compulsory (Level 3-5), Optional (Level 6-10), and Elite. The Elite program is where international and Olympic-level athletes are trained.

At Logos Edge, Team begins with our competitive Level 2 Team and continues through our Elite programs. In Texas, the Compulsory Season runs from August to the end of the calendar year, and the Optional Season runs from the first of the calendar year and is generally completed by the end of May.

ELITE is an invitation-only group. Elite gymnasts have higher expectations. All gymnasts in this group are required to attend two workouts a day. Gymnasts invited to the Elite program will have individual parent/athlete meetings to talk about workouts, school, expectations, competitions, etc. 
 

Is a competitive gymnastics program that follows the same structure, events, judging, and skill development that the DP Women’s program. The Xcel program has a less intensive training regimen, allowing athletes to participate in more activities outside of the gym. The program is designed to provide a broad-based, affordable, competitive experience. It was designed to open the door for competitive gymnastics to more athletes.

The Xcel program has 5 distinct levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, & Sapphire. The great thing about the Xcel program is that it provides athletes the ability to shine in events they personally do well in and gives athletes the ability to perform skills they are comfortable with. For instance, most athletes prefer back tumbling. In Xcel, if an athlete is struggling with back tumbling but performing well in their front tumbling they can then perform those skills instead.  

At Logos Edge, Xcel begins with Gold and goes through Platinum. 

Xcel to Developmental Equivalency (Approximate)

• Silver ≈ DP Level 3 - 4
• Gold ≈ DP Level 4 - 5
• Platinum ≈ DP Level 5 – 6
